BAPTISM
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward grace. The act of baptism does not save us, but we do it to show the world that we are saved and not ashamed.
Here, at Cypress, we baptize by immersion. As you go under the water, your former life without Christ is dead and buried. When you are brought up from the water, you are raised to new life in the spirit. The water also represents the washing of our sins.
We will be offering believers' baptisms during our annual Summer Celebration on Sunday, August 24th. This will be an outdoor service. All adults, youth, and children who have completed the 5th grade catechism class, are welcome to participate in this service. If you have questions concerning baptism, call the church office, ext. 238, and talk to Debbie Brisentine. To sign up for this service, click here.
